Our promise
MovieResort is a publication about films, series, documentaries and cinema culture. It is for people who want to choose what to watch and better understand the works, people and crafts behind them, without needing specialist knowledge.
A film opens a door. Our promise is to help you explore what lies beyond it: the people who made it possible, the ideas it carries and the works it speaks to. A synopsis can set the scene; context helps explain why a story, creative decision or cinematic tradition deserves attention.
We choose topics for their usefulness, documentary support and contribution to a map of cinema across periods, countries, formats and sensibilities. We seek meaningful connections, not repeated synopses, empty records or popularity as the only criterion.
What you can read and explore
Each format answers a different question. The catalogue organises information, the magazine develops it, and viewing guides help you decide without revealing events beyond the premise.
Spoiler-free film guides
A premise-based synopsis, what to know before watching and a synthesis of documented opinions. Critics’ views and audience responses are kept distinct: we do not invent consensus or claim personal viewing.
Analysis, history and filmmaking
Articles on films, careers, genres, movements and creative decisions. Reading intended for after viewing declares its spoiler level.
Records and connections
Works, people and organisations linked through credits and editorial context. Record data is not a rating, and an incomplete entry does not become an article.
Releases, festivals and awards
A calendar and context for cinema events. We distinguish announcements, confirmed dates, nominations and results, with their scope and sources.
Where to watch
Availability information grouped by film and territory. Catalogues and terms can change: check the date and confirm the offer with its provider.
A documentary critical essay interprets sources about a work: it does not certify that its author watched it or receive a score on that basis. An opinion summary is not a first-hand review either. We attribute viewing, interviews or direct experience only when documented.
How we make our content
The publishing company sets the framework and remains responsible for the publication. Content creation and improvement follow an automated editorial workflow: topic selection, source research, writing, translation, independent verification and publication. This does not include human review of each piece or imply personal viewing.
- We select useful questions and review existing coverage to avoid repeating topics without adding something new.
- The editorial team sets and applies research and source-selection criteria. It uses AI to help locate documentation and worthwhile content, compare information and detect inconsistencies.
- We prepare texts that distinguish facts, interpretations and other people’s opinions. Relevant sources, images and their rights are part of the checks.
- Automated editorial checks assess sources, claims, clarity, depth, translations, spoilers, originality and rights. They may withhold content without sufficient evidence; they do not guarantee that it is error-free.
- We update when relevant information changes, retain provenance and examine error reports. A substantial update is not the same as a correction.
Six languages, with attention to context
MovieResort offers editions in Spanish, English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese. They share one editorial project: adapting a text into another language does not authorise changes to its facts, qualifications or evidential limits.
Coverage includes cinema from different countries and periods. Release titles, release dates and viewing offers may vary by territory, even within one language. We show these differences when documented; a language edition does not imply a physical bureau or a complete catalogue for every country.
A publication of the Merito Media group
MovieResort is the cinema brand within the editorial group owned and published by Merito Media LLC. The brand identifies the publication; the company is responsible for publishing and operating it. Full identification and legal contact channels appear in the legal notice.
Editorial responsibility, authorship of an article and technology provision are different roles. A search service, image supplier or AI tool does not thereby become an author, publisher or sponsor of MovieResort.
Bylines, contributors and tools
Each article’s byline identifies its author or the collective editorial team. “MovieResort Editorial Team” is a publication byline, not a person’s name. Likewise, a reference to automatic verification describes a process, not a second human reader.
We work with external contributors, identified in the relevant articles. Third-party contributions, image credits and sources are distinguished from the text’s byline. Responsibility for publication remains with the publishing company and its editorial organisation.
AI is useful for research and information auditing, finding sources and flagging contradictions. It can also assist with proposals, drafting and translation. We identify AI-assisted content and explain its controls and limits, without attributing personal experiences to it or presenting its answers as a guarantee of truth.
How the publication is funded
MovieResort is supported by the editorial group’s resources and by advertising, affiliate revenue and sponsorships. Access to public content and newsletter subscriptions is free; subscribing to the newsletter does not purchase a paid service.
Relevant commercial relationships must be identified beside the affected content or link. Paid cooperation, an invitation, press material and a documentary source are not the same thing. Our criteria require distinguishing them and not presenting a commercial interest as an independent opinion.
Topic selection is guided by usefulness to readers and available documentation. We explain relationships and potential conflicts so you can judge the context, without promising an absolute independence that cannot be verified.
A conversation that improves our cinema coverage
You can report an error, provide a source or suggestion, or propose a contribution. If your enquiry concerns a page, include its link, the specific information and documentation that helps us examine it. We promise neither a fixed response time nor automatic changes: we provide a real channel to receive and consider what you send.
